This 3 bedroom house on a rural property provided an opportunity to celebrate the existing small dam and remnant ironbark tree grove. 3 concepts were presented before the final design was selected and developed. Built along the contours, the living areas open to the swimming pool on the north and the the dam to the south. The master bedroom suite opens toward the pool while the two other bedrooms open to views of the dam with their own private decks. The north facing alfresco area is covered with a glazed pergola with adjustable horizontal blinds beneath to allow complete control of solar gain to the terrace and the interior. Large overhangs protect the window. All roof water is captured and piped to the holding tanks on the south of the double garage. The roof carries a solar hot water unit as well as PV panels to reduce power consumption from the grid.
